Background I was born in Montreal, Quebec.
For the past year, I have worked as a private music teacher, and as a Thai Yoga Practitioner to make a living. When I am not in school or working, I like volunteering as a community organizer. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and colleagues discussing politics and partaking in musical, political projects. I also enjoy babysitting my roommates’ daughter Tala. Upon the completion of my degree at McGill, I would like to work as a Music Educator in an Elementary or High School while continuing to do my political work in the Filipino-Canadian community, as well as my developing profession as a Thai Yoga Practitioner. My main professional objective is not a really focused to be completely honest. I enjoy learning so much, and learning is part of teaching, so that could take me anywhere in the future.
Other Interesting Things
I am very interested in drawing and painting, in writing poetry, dancing and making music. I also love learning martial arts and have a background in karate, capoeira and Kali (Filipino martial arts). It has only been in the past year that I’ve discovered my Philippine cultural heritage and have been interested in learning the language of the island my family originated from, Hiligaynon, however, I am beginning to learn about Tagalog, the national spoken language of the Philippines.
